Report on the 10th Asian Taekwon-Do Championships
The 10th Asian Taekwon-Do Championships were held from August 20 to 25, 2024, in the vibrant city of Bengaluru, India, at the renowned Indoor Stadium Koramangala. The event commenced with a spectacular opening ceremony, featuring the participation of esteemed guests, including Professor Grand Master Ri Yong Son, President of the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF), and Dato Dr. Grand Master Leong Wai Meng, Vice President of the ITF. Mr. Kim Myong Gun, President of the Asian Taekwon-Do Federation, formally declared the championships open at the conclusion of his speech, igniting the excitement of all in attendance.
In addition to the high-level competition, the Asian Taekwon-Do Congress took place in the prestigious conference hall of the Chancery Pavilion Hotel. This congress facilitated essential discussions on the future of Taekwon-Do in Asia, further fostering collaboration and the development of the sport across the continent.
Taekwon-Do practitioners from 13 Asian countries participated in the championships, demonstrating a profound mastery of techniques and showcasing their dedication to the art. The level of competition was intense, and the competitors’ skills were on full display, impressing both the audience and judges.
All participants expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional organization of the event, with special thanks extended to Grand Master Dr. Rajendran Balan, President of the Organizing Committee and Founder of the ITA (Indian Taekwon-Do Association).
