ITF Singapore, Invitational Championships 2019

Strengthening bonds and mastering Taekwon-do – The ITF Singapore Taekwon-do Invitational Championship 2019

On 8 September 2019, more than 50 participants aged 5 to over 21 participated in the ITF Singapore Taekwon-do Invitational Championship 2019. Organised by the International Taekwon-Do Federation Singapore (I.T.F.) Singapore, the Singapore National Governing Body (NGB) of the International Taekwon-do Federation, the annual championship is the highlight in our calendar of events. Jeffrey Leo, 4th Dan, was in charge of organising this event, and was supported by black belts name list as below.

Cherie Ho (4th Dan) Guan Qiao Sheng (2nd Dan) Timothy Loi (1st Dan) Kor Kah Hoe (1st Dan) Than Sook Wei (1st Dan)

The aim of the championship was to expose students from a young age to the rigours of training hard for competition. Equally important was to have students learn from each other, from both students who performed better and also less well. For some, this was their first experience of a competition, but everyone learnt and enjoyed themselves. It was also a good experience for more senior black belts, to refresh and apply their umpiring skills.

We hope that the competition sets our students up for the ITF Singapore Regional Championship in 2020, where we will be inviting practitioners from neighboring countries to participate.
